Tutors of 2024

Coming to the campus first time you’ll meet your tutor. Tutor works as your senior, who introduces you to the Finnish university life and culture. You can read Tutti’s tutors’ greetings from below:

Greetings from Board Members

There are a few elected students, board members, who represent Tutti ry. Board Members that are important to especially you as a new student pass their greetings on this section. Labour union TEK has their own student liaison, who strongly co-operates with the board of Tutti ry, and will also send their greetings.

Chair of the Board

Hey you, Welcome to Tutti!

Congratulations on securing your study place! It’s fantastic to have you here in Vaasa. My name is Joonas Nurmi, and this year I’m the chairman of Tutti ry board. The upcoming years will be an adventure, so I recommend enjoying these moments to the fullest!

I’m about to start my 4th year in Electrical and Energy Engineering, and I’m currently working on my bachelor’s thesis. I got involved with Tutti right from my freshman year and participated in both the anniversary celebration staff and the project team. Last year, I served as the project manager, creating events, and now this year, I’m acting as the captain of the ship. The best thing about Tutti is that all students of technical sciences come together under the same organization. We have a student community here that welcomes everyone as they are.

As a fresher, your academic year starts with orientation weeks. During these weeks, new students get to know the campus and meet other students. Tutti is actively involved in the orientation weeks and also organizes its own events during this period. At Tutti's events, you’ll get to meet the people running your subject organization, senior students, and of course, learn about the traditions and culture. Remember, the Tutti board and tutors are here for you. We have a large group of board members, officials, and team members who are always ready to help with various issues.

If you have any questions about your studies, board activities, or even ‘90s dance moves, feel free to come and talk! Studying is more than just attending lectures and taking exams. These years will pass very quickly, so I warmly recommend creating memories from these moments. Enjoy the summer and see you in the fall!

Culture and Fresher Rep.

Hey fresher, and congratulations on choosing the best possible place to study!

I'm Matias, and I'm about to start my third year in Industrial Engineering and Management, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time studying! This year, I’m also part of Tutti’s board as the fresher and culture representative, and I must say that getting involved in student activities has been the second-best decision of my life, the best being moving to Vaasa to study!

As the fresher and culture representative, my job is to introduce you to the secrets and traditions of Tutti culture and the broader technical student culture, so feel free to ask me anything about these matters anytime!

You can easily find me at events because I'm quite a lively character, and also at Tutti’s room called ‘Tuttis’, where I like to live in symbiosis with the sofa and good company!

The best way to get the most out of the unique student life is to jump into everything with an open mind, get to know our amazing students, and remember that it’s better to smile with your chin up than to frown with your chin down :)

I can't wait for the fresher weeks starting in August, to get to know you, and to enjoy an unforgettable fresher autumn with you!

See you in the fall at the latest :)

Rep. of Educational Affairs

Hello there!

Welcome to the University of Vaasa. I'm Eemeli Korpi, and this year I’m serving as the Representative of Educational Affairs, also known as 'kopo'.

I’m about to start my third year in Electrical and Energy Engineering. My role as the Representative of Educational Affairs focuses on the development work related to studies. I handle various matters related to the university, study programs, and even individual courses. My work is based on feedback from students. I collect feedback twice a year, in the fall and spring, and you can also reach out to me on Telegram @Eemeli_Korpi whenever you encounter issues in your studies that need improvement.

I like Vaasa as a student city because of its unique characteristics. Vaasa is smaller compared to other cities, but it surpasses others with its sense of community. Although studying technology in Vaasa is still relatively new, we have a distinctive and strong technical student culture that you won't find anywhere else.

I recommend making the most of your student life and being active, especially during the first few weeks, both in lectures and evening events. I hope to see you on campus and at events, and maybe later you might get involved in Tutti’s activities, for example, in teams that open for applications in the fall! Good luck with the start of your studies, and remember to reach out without hesitation.
